The Woodpecker!

Woken at 6.45 this morning by a woodpecker, who was happily looking for bugs in our pine trees.  Had a fantastic view of him from the bedroom window.  Watched him for about 10 mins moving from tree to tree before he finally flew off to the pine tree plantation in the field.

Well as I'm awake now!  Read 'Toast' for a bit, World Book Night book from a neighbour, and now up and about an raring to go on a dog walk.  Where shall we go?  I think a nice 4.5 miles from Tissington to Fenny Bentley and back, partly on the Tissington Trail and partly across open fields.  May even pop in to see Theo's mum in Tissington.....

Had a great day in Tissington yesterday.  Spent the day helping Annie @ On a Wick and a Prayer with her open weekend.  We served gorgeous cakes made by Ed, Annies husband, teas and coffees and met so many visitors.  Enjoyed a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc with Annie at lunchtime, sitting in the sun.  Perfect!

Best go, Theo is sat here looking expectantly at me!

7th April

What a gorgeous week we're having and a good forecast for the weekend too!  Doesn't it make you feel better when the sun shines?

John and Joe are away walking in Wales this weekend, so I thought I might have to mow the lawn on Sunday, but John has just done it!!  Won't tell him that I was planning on doing it otherwise he might leave it for me next time.

Been a busy week, but at least I've got tomorrow afternoon off!  Out with Dawn and Angela for lunch then coffee and cupcakes at On a Wick and a Prayer open day.  Hope Edd saves us some cupcakes!

Then a lovely Saturday helping Annie at On a Wick and a Prayers open weekend.  Hopefully lots of visitors to Tissington who buy lots of gorgeous candles.

And what shall I do with my Sunday???

3rd April

Well, another busy weekend!

An early start Saturday morning to help Round Table fill the remaining 300+ bags of compost for their annual muck run!  Around 600 bags were delivered in the Ashbourne area by 3 teams of Tablers, whilst 8 further people continued bagging at Hoe Grange.  Great morning, fantastic camaraderie and welcome coffee breaks, but I have lots of aching muscles today!!

It was another early start this morning, John was running the Derby 10k and we had to be in Derby for 9am!  Every year he aims to finish in less than 50 minutes, unfortunately this year was no different! I think if he did more training he would stand a better chance!  But, not only did he complete the 10k he then went on to do the fun run with Joe in 17mins.  So well done to both of them!

Pizza Express with the Laceys for a celebration lunch and then home to chill.  Kids are watching I am Legend and John is watching a DVD upstairs!  So I thought I would catch up on some networking and paperwork.
